St. Louis' Union Station was built as a terminal rather than a through station, even though there were through tracks that bypassed it but with no platforms. Not too practical when you end up having to do a reverse move on a through train. |

Yes, most of Amtrak's Horizon fleet is in the Midwest. Other than having a bad reputation for freeze up in very cold weather, they are not bad cars. |
