And the station was also reconfigured to accommodate the IND. As I mentioned a few weeks back when we were discussing the never-used El built on Delancey Street, I've personally noticed stairways at the Eastern ends of the Essex Street stations. |

By "reconfigured" for the IND, I'm referring to passenger ingress and egress. I realize the track configuration is the same (except for the Chrystie connection) as was done in 1913-ish.. |

A good friend of mine could ONLY afford to live there in 1960s-70s. Now he also can't afford to move back, lol.I was working in the area last summer and fall, so naturally I took a walk. When I spotted the gourmet olive oil store (that's all they sell) on the south side of Broadway, somewhere west of Driggs, I knew I was out of my league!! |

They may have been leftover items from the switches that were at the west end of the station before they were moved to their present location. |

When you are right, Larry, you are right! What I do find to be strange is why shuttle service was not restored on the B'way Ferry spur, if this ferry service did indeed last from 1921-1931. I realize that they rebuilt the Broadway el with express track for nassau St service. |

Based on the consensus here, I got this one wrong. My "memory" dates from 25 years ago, and the stub is so short, and I saw the Myrtle stub the same day.Guess I got confused... |
