The use of the R33ML cars on these moves seems to be the norm nowadays; they moved the R36WF pair to 207 in September and recently, the now scrapped R27/30 school cars.Makes me wonder what's next for the R110B cars. |

Plans probably changed. Good news, though, these cars are getting new use. |

There might be other things happening as well.R188 Car 7843 has arrived on the property at 239th St Yard as per my sources; so I will be looking for a complete set of Cars 7838-43 in a few days. One which I am not so clear on right now involves the R110B. Have been told one car (3007) has been moved to the track (65) that goes out onto 215th St. Chances are, it's leaving the property. I'd rule out a scrap move; the cars, if I have this right, were purchased with federal money. So they can't be scrapped, at least not right now. I'm curious also as to this development. |

I drove by 207th Street Yard on the Major Deegan this morning and, whatever car or cars that were supposed to be there, aren't there anymore. But after seeing pictures someone posted Right Here, I realized cars 3001-3003 weren't where they would normally be parked, on the track beside 3007-3009 and R12 5782. So as to where 3001-3003 went off to, who knows? But they're not there. |

A car has a design life in the contract, typically 40 years for the TA. If the feds pay for the car, which in the case of the R110s they did not, then they expect the car to be built that design life. They won't force someone to keep it around for that long, instead they usually want at least 25 years out of the car as a way of justifying their investment. Hardly illogical. |
