There are a lot more clearances to worry about besides Jamaica platform but entire Gp40 is same height as F40 which is like 15" 4"

Jamaica, and only certain tracks at that, are the ones I remember being a problem in 1975. GP40's have that dynamic brake blister, which could be a problem.

The Super Steels are not exactly short in height taking full advantage of 14'6", boxy profile, and flat roofs.

GP38 pulling C-1's looked inches taller than they, so likely 15'4" as well, but a narrow long hood.

As I said in another post, the dynamic brake blister could be a problem with the GP40, or however the various versions have been customized over the years.

On Vid # 2 LIRR, what was that last car?
Power car?
Data Collection Car?

Was this run pre FL-9 use?

One of the old ex-WM power packs, either 608 or 609, rebuilt into an HEP 480v AC power car.

Sometime later, they converted it back to 650v output for the regular push-pull trains.

It may still be lurking around Jamaica.

Those curved corners at the roof make all the difference in the tunnels to NYP.
