Posted by Neil Feldman on Fri Aug 3 20:53:32 2012 Well you got it: Even closer:  This is M3 9832 leading Train 2058 which would typically be a rush hour, but is the last off-peak train which is very busy before the rush hour leaving Penn Station at 3:55 (been that way since the Main Line got electrified to Ronkonkoma in 1987), and arrives Ronkonkoma at 5:16 (used to be 5:12), and connects with the Scoot which goes to Greenport (Summer Friday's only, but to Yaphank the other times). 9 times out of 10, this train has an M3 because of the very heavy passenger loads this train takes, and carries about 20 more passengers than the M7(ADA bathroom took away the extra seats). This shot was taken at my favorite spot at Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma with my new Canon T4i using 800 ISO at 1/640 sec. shutter speed, and apperature at f5.6. Please enjoy. |

To my disgust it was M7's. Being in the second car from the rear the crowding was no worse than most rush hour trains (4 people/vestibule) but when I saw it leave Hicksville the front was as packed as a subway car! |
