A wild guess, but, could that be the New York & Queens in the Flushing Meadows? Car is heading west towards Woodside on what would become or is Northern Boulevard, track branching off is the Woodside via Elmhurst line, which was the first one abandoned, sometime, I believe, in the 1920s. |

Third rail means 1900 at the earliest. The area is unsettled, eliminating a lot of choices in Brooklyn and Queens. This is why I went with the junction with the South Beach line. The only other railroad junction within the city's borders that would apply is the junction with the PW/Whitestone branch in Flushing.Outside being somewhere on the Whitestone Branch, I am totally stumped. |

No, Port Ivory is further north off of the North Shore Line. Don't believe that spur was electrified. It's somewhere on the SIRT's North Shore Line, in my opinion. However, it's hard to determine, at this moment, exactly where but a good clue would be the track's nearness to the water. I'll keep trying. |

The line with the car still exists but the line curving off does not.The line curving off no longer had passenger service by the time this picture was taken (c.1920) and never had third rail. |

The line is still on the same r-o-w, but the area around it looks different now. Some of us have even ridden on the type of equipment on that line that is in the picture. |
