TUS was built jointly by Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Air Line, and Tampa Northern railroads, opening in 1912.
photos from June 19, 2011

The O-scale display is a hit with kids and railfans.

Nice photos but why is a model of a GG-1 displayed when they didn't run anywhere near there ?

1. They have one.
2. Many passengers who go to Tampa by train come from GG1 territory and would be attracted to it.

I see that track that used to go across the street is cut and looks like it's going to become a display track.

Those model trains need tracks.

IAWTP. How hard would have it been for them to make a trip to the local hobby sore and pickup a dozen or so tracks?

Denver's Union Station has a train layout in the basement.

No, it's just an archeological remnant. Downtown used to be all railyards, and that station used to be 12 tracks wide. Harbor Island used to be called something else and was solely for Plants trains too. I had a photo of the last of the bridge, but even that and the tracks were covered up for a new museum. I think with all the condos they built in the background which are all new, there is only one spot with tracks in the street left in that spot.
