Well, if he ain't gonna link it he should provide it like many of us do. It is not only informative but it is also respectful of not only Dave but the actual photographer as well. It is nice he shares what he finds interesting, but he needs to do it properly and respectfully. |

How good/bad condition were some of these car classes before being put through GOH? I assume that the 44's and 46's weren't that bad off, considering they hadn't hit 20 yet by the late '80's. |

Yes, I remember the blue doored cleaned up R42's and R40 Slants on the M in 1985....just before they took them all away and gave us the horror of the worst R16's for a while in 1986. |

The R40, R42's were a horror before GOH, but they got this mini-clean up just before they went to GOH, and they looked the best of thier lives in my opinion. The stainless cars weren't quite as bad as the carbon steel cars, but they weren't too far off. They were a mess. |

Yeah, that transition period right before GOH was the best look. Clean, blue doors inside and out, virtually no dark cars. They were FAST. I loved them on the orange D before Archer Ave opened. The only discernible difference between a pre and post GOH R46, from a rider perspective, was the sound the air compressors made. The R46 used to whistle. It was distinct from every other car in the fleet. |

I have been trying to identify this font for years. It was used on R42 bulkhead signage, R40 signage on all sides, as well as R44 and R46 side signage, well into 1988. I do associate it with the slants most, though. |
