Myrtle between Bway/Myrt and Bridge St never had covered 3rd rail.It retained open elevated type rail to the end. I worked Myrtle as a C/R in 1967 and as a M/M in 1969 and in that time the 3rd rail was always open el type. I also checked photos of the el from 1969 and they all show open elevated 3rd rail with the subway shoes on the Qs riding in the up position characteristic of subway shoes on el type 3rd rail in all BMT locations that had it. |
