The center doors on those gate cars were sealed long before 1944. Park Row was pared down to one island platform in 1935, beginning on March 31st, 1935, when the other platforms were closed. Actual demolition began in August. My guess is the center doors were sealed in the 1920's, after the Dual Contracts subway tunnels and bridge routes connected Manhattan and Brooklyn. |
