I still believe this track was meant more to connect the Myrtle Ave line to the original elevated 14th St. line through the area.Yes, all signs lead to the track being built in anticipation of the Canarsie line being built as the Wyckoff El, as originally intended. It appears from the photo Newkirk Bill posted, that the trains from the Broadway El Chambers Route, may have been intended to run express to Wyckoff, and then probably onto the Canarsie line that would have connected with the Myrtle Line at grade. |
