When I came ono board, you didn't have to qualify on those anymore unless you worked "misc." The issue wasn't so much the weight as it was the "lurch" as I recall ... the dynamics had a tendency to "grab" too hard for the structure and so they cut them out. And the third notch removal (that's what they actually did - those 12's wouldn't do parallel with the third notch removed) was to ensure that they didn't get up to too much of a speed where the air would lurch them either. |
