The only oddity in the el east of 121st was the lower elevation between Metropolitan and just east of Sutphin. When I did my infamous "walk" of the el structure in 1987, I made note of it and never ventured east of Queens Blvd.

Here's a nice pic of the the el rising to a normal height just before Sutphin Blvd. Although the tracks were totally intact all the way to the bumper block, they never laid trains up on the elevating portion.
