I don't remember rot and ruin on the grand scale we see today - I DO remember DIMNESS and a very VERY creepy feeling, especially in the part of station with the high ceiling. I remember as a little kid being scared of the place when we'd travel back from Brooklyn to Jamaica. That all changed once the flourescent lights came on in '61.I think the original lighting should be restored - at least in part - with metal halide lamps instead of incandescent. And NOT with the kind of "Big Box Store" fixtures they put in at Sutphin/Archer and Jamaica Center. =wayne= |
