When the last through routing before the subway openings was put into place, your beloved Jackson Park always had trolley equipped equipment because of the overhead wire in Evanston. Then when the 4000s were gathered up to operate the State ST subway in 1943, your Jackson Park got the trolley 4000s while the Englewood-Normal Park-Ravenswood got the baldies. In 1949 the CTA sent all subway trains to Howard ST on the north end and separated the Evanston and the Ravenswood into separate routes. Now there was no need to isolate the trolley 4000s to the Jackson Park (B now). I'll have to check pics from 1949 to the mid 50s when the 6200s took over the subway. By the way, the 6200s spend their entire life on the subway.

David

P.S. You do know that the Englewood-Ravenswood trains 1943-49 were eight cars long. Sorry, but the Brown line eight car trains were NOT the first eight car trains out on the Ravenswood.
