With strong rolling stock you don't have to grade separate the right of way for one, which provides a large cost savings.Except the main reason for eliminating grade crossings is to reduce traffic conflicts and to mitigate against the logistical problems of having a local area cokehead crash into one of your trains and cause heavy delays and cancellations. |
