Not sure what they use, but it's designed specifically for the purpose. Gutenberg project and several others make use of the technology on old, stained books and the recovery is nothing short of amazing. Some of the newer fonts are troublesome but even there it does well. Gutenberg has a raft of volunteers who proofread the digitizing and there's not all that much that needs to be corrected remarkably ... |
