The redbirds looked good too with some attention to detail applied. The deeper shade of red with the silver roof with the black bonnet & black between car pantographs showed to me anyway, that a true attempt was made to make equiptment in the twilight of their career look good.On the other hand, the brighter red paint job slapped on the R-10s in the early 60's for example, to me looked like a quickie Earl Scheib job. "We'll paint any (subway) car for...!!" :-) |
