There are so many rumors out on the shop floors that anyone from a supervisor to a car inspector to a cleaner to an apprentice or even an intern might hear and/or repeat. Some of it might be true while more may be bull. The fact of the matter is that while I've had the information since December, until my boss gets it signed by the president and he gives it to me in writing:

**the R-44s are not getting scrapped.
**The R-44s in Staten Island are still going to be SMS'd
**and none of my R-46s are going to be modified for service in Staten Island as a bridge fleet.

I might have actually gotten the real story at dinner last night. Time will tell. Will vacuous tube reveal his source?
