The problem with Myrtle unlike the Fulton structure was that due to the placement of the stairways to the street on Myrtle, the girderwork at the station entrances was above and alongside the trackway rather than directly below it as on the rest of the structure. Those girders were too close to allow a 10 ft wide car to pass and replacing or moving them to provide clearance would have been prohibitively expensive. |
