I always wondered if the lower level of Gun Hill Road could have been able to handle 10 car trains (A or B division), had they connected it to a subway, south of 204 or 210 Sts?The lower level platform at Gun Hill Road could hold a six car standard Steinway train. After el service ceased they used the lower level for mid-day layups of ten car No 2 and 5 trains. They could fit a ten car train in there but the north four cars extended beyond the platform onto the ramp. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
