But they quoted a letter someone actually wrote about riding the Mineola to Belmont Racetrack. Additionally, Stan Fischler, who I don't consider an ignorant person, believes the connection was actually made.But Art Huencke, who not only seems to know all there is to know about the LIRR but also worked there for years, feels the connection was never completed. While I'm not 100% sure, I fall on the side that's more in favor of it. Of course, some actual photos and/or a trip log might settle it... |
