"Diesel Locomotives do not use anti-freeze and so they must be running or drained in cold weather."It is a rare event in NYC where it is cold enough that an engine could not stay a few hours without anti-freeze mid day. this is just another example out of many hundreds where the mta takes the easy way out and has an utter disregard to the money it entrusted to spend. If the mta was an unsubsidized private company this type of BS would not happen. If you look at the level of innovations that took place at the irt and bmt and the utter lack of any innovations since the city and mta took over it is crazy. The rider and the taxpayer is secondary to what is easier for the management. Line workers just take there cues from management. |
