I'm afraid you simply do not understand the difference between T and P.P meant steam service, belt-driven batteries, and manual doors, T meant non-motorized trailers in EMU consists and MU pneumatic doors, and trainlined. Ping-pong only referred to them while in steam service. They were generally not mixed with other classes of cars, including clerestory roofed P-54's as they oscillated between them and wore out their draft gear. Many of the 300 and 400's (7300 & 7400's in post 1955 rebuild) were converted or sometimes back and forth in their lifespan. This particular car was a P54 in the post 1955-era, I do not know beforehand. P54's 51-90 were converted to full-fledged MP-54s in 1930. They were renumbered in the 1900's, also also were distinguishable by a diaphragm frame around the end door. None survive. |
