Yeah, the PA system for the R-10's, which were first installed as early as 1974, had the conductors speaking inside the motorman's cab. My first impression of the use of the R-10's with the PA's was that they sure had a very strong, booming tone when heard inside the car.Of course, and I agree with you, the R-10's at least during the 1950's and 1960's were indeed the "A" train, no doubt.
