And also so that the train itself will "have a fighting chance" as I've heard. I've heard the "museum cars" have had some trouble, so the additional redbirds (of many colors) also serve that purpose. At least they won't need a rescue train or w/e that was for the Yankee Sta. Lo-V run.In the beginning, the long displayed museum cars were stretching their legs for the first time since the mid 70's, so the Redbirds gave an assist 'just in case". It been some years since the R-12,15,17,33S have been running as the TOMC so who knows how their reliability is. If the TA can dig up an R-22 for restoration that would make it a five car train, one more car than the Low-V has. Bill "Newkirk" |
