I remember 1980 when I played little league in Glendale, the league was circulating a petition to start the electrification of the Montauk/LIC line because it passed next to our fields. Plan was to somehow run subway service on the line, but it was shot down. I lived very close to Fresh Pond Rd. I remember one passenger used to get on every day at that stop. I also remember going to Jahn's in Richmond Hill, and visiting the LIRR station after ice cream. |
