If, however, the door control circuits were modified so that either of the end cars could be left closed at selected stations while the rest of the train is opened similar to what is done on the PATH, then 11 car operation might become feasible.I think that the R46s can do that. I once rode a (R) train at around 11PM from Union Square that had its front car's lights and doors off meaning that there were only 7 open cars in the train. |
