only the last 7 have come since the Mets arrived on the secne. 7 to 2 is a more fair set of numbers, we can't compete with 19 rings that were won before our team started playing.

the Yankees have had thier tollet years, lets look at some numbers. the frist World Seires took place in 1903. you didn't win one untill 1923. from there, I will admit to a well run operation with great men, but after CBS bought the team in 1964, the fell faster than the Dow. one good year in 67, those weird ones in 77 and 78, then they didn't win again until 1996.

and if you want to talk about what you need to win, it's prayer; you need to pray that the Red Sox team bus slides off a highway and the entire squad ends up in traction. 210 million a year does not win you rings (for that matter 141 million doesn't get rings but thats not the point i'm making). you can sign the best guys in the world, but they are human and you know what that means.
