I thought you were a big believer in economic freedom.The MTA tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a business deal: money for station naming rights. The only leverage they had was the threat that in the absence of money they wouldn't name the station in the desired fashion. So once the negotiations fall through, they have to make good on their threat or no one will believe hem in any future negotiations. How is this any different than Amtrak having the right to bar photography if they so chose? Doesn't a quasi-public entity have the right to manage its business? |
