Here, in Washington, we make it even more confusing."Stadium Armory" is where RFK stadium is but the Nationals aren't. If you want to see a baseball game, you need to know that "Navy Yard" is the place to go. Directional signage in the station reads the more generic "Nationals Ballpark" rather than "Nationals Park," perhaps in anticipation of the stadium eventually being renamed. And IIRC, the name of both the IRT and IND stations was for many years just 161st St - River Avenue. "Yankee Stadium" was added to the name later. |
