Padilla might still be in legal limbo if a Federal judge hadn't told the government to either bring him to trial or set him free. In other words, the judge said, "knock this sh*t off. Either charge the man with something, or turn him loose."The government eventually DID charge Padilla with attempted terrorism, NOT treason, which is ostensibly why they kept him incommunicado for 3+ years... |
