I believe the best way to defuse a situation like this is to not acknowledge you know the cop is in the wrong. They then have no opportunity to get defensive. I'd rather act as if I "didn't know it was illegal" and that I'm just a rail buff wanting photos for my collection. I'd even throw in some technical foamer crap to make it appear I'm really a hobbyist. I'd keep the legal stuff out of it until/unless I was either arrested or asked to delete my photos. |
