And that mistake has been photographed before. To whit, an earlier photo, probably around 1999."Brodaway" name, Broadway Station, IND Crosstown Line. By the way, I just notified the NY Daily News' reporter about this topic in a bit more detail with some historical background (i.e. including when it was probably first installed before the station actually opened in July 1937), as well to NY1 News' "In Transit" show, where he is a contributing report there.
