Well, Babylon to Patchougue is really more of a commuter line than Babylon-Speonk-Montauk. It gets hourly service to this day, IIRC. No other LIRR diesel line gets that sort of off-peak service.BTW, before 1987 wasn't the whole line from Hicksville to Greenport considered the same thing? It was all diesel back then. |
