There is nothing wrong with those railfans texting the engineer even if they thought he may be operating. I would assume that he wouldn't respond until he was in a safe position to do so, such as waiting at the next station. Those fans have nothing to do with this. Unfortunately, it wouldn't surprise me if Metrolink and possibly other rail agencies around the country begin (continue?) to target railfans as threats. |
