Some people are good enough at texting that they can do it without looking at their phones. We don't know whether the engineer was among them, and in any event even if he was it still might have been too distracting to text.Both texting and talking on a cell phone still need to be banned for people who have so many lives in their hands. Studies have shown that people talking on a hands free cellphone are just as distracted as those talking on a hand held phone. |
