The pictures I have seen from the RVC wreck were from Newsday's archives. The DOT report supplied me the unit #s. These two cars, one from roughly 1910, the other from the mid-1920s, hit point-to-point. Both cars were split down-the-aisle, and everybody who was on the wrong side of the aisle died, 31 in all.

The last batch of owl-eyes that were classified as MP-54s came in 1930. These were the 1135-1179 series and were designated MP-54A1c.
They appeared to be very similar to earlier models, at least on the outside.
