I've never compared the US system to Britain at any time. There's nothing in Britain worth comparing to, except the overpriced CTRL. Now what if the USA had nationalized all of the railroads (for the second time) on May 1 1971? Do you think a comparable volume of rail service to BR would have resulted . . . ? |
