Heh, that was a big trip you took! All in three days, can't wait to see pics :) Btw, there were some stuff I saw in your trip report that I wanted to correct on (And look up online if you wanna find out more about them)."I knew we were getting near when we slowed, and soon we were crossing the Delaware River, with the skyline of Philly off to the south. Shortly after crossing the river, I saw tracks for one of the subway/surface lines (alas, no Kawasaki LRV was seen)" Uh, if I think i'm right, you were in Philly (Not Downtown Philadelphia though) crossing the Schuylkill River, with the Route 15 Trolley tracks (PCCs only I believe) along Girard Av and I-76 below. You slow down a bit in both directions before reaching 30 St (On the Regional Rail, and apparently Amtrak/Accela too). The Delaware would be as soon as you left Trenton heading south. "We got to PHL around 12:43, as we were entering 30th St, I got a shot of a Septa Regional Rail train, and on departure, I got SEPTA New Flyer D40LF 8080 on the highway (I-95?) that was just to the east of the ROW. We crossed the river, and shortly after that, we passed under PATCO. Somehow, I had missed it on the outbound. An eastbound PATCO train was on the elevated, but again I was taken by surprised and didn’t get a pic :(" That highway most likely was I-76 (The Schuylkill Expressway), with I-676 (The Vine St Expressway) nearby as well. Then you crossed the Schuylkill again and passed under SEPTA's Market-Frankford EL, north of Tioga Station, the Eastbound train you saw (Heading North I assume) was going to Frankford. PATCO is on the Ben Franklin Bridge (via I-676) to Jersey or Center City (aka, Downtown Philly) |
