what arguably coule become the worst recession in 35 years

Not even close. We're not looking at the double digit unemployment and inflation of the Carter years.

some people are even calling this a depression

1) We are not yet in a recession, let alone a depression. A recession is defined as 2-7 consecutive quarters of economic contraction.

2) When you get past the 7th quarter and have 8+ consecutive quarters of economic contraction, then you have a depression. The chances of that happening are very slim.

3) Who are these people who are claiming that we are in a depression?
