A few years back, NJT was proposing to re-build the fuel pad at Bay Head Yard. The NIMBY's next to the yard all of a sudden decided that they no longer wanted the fuel pad located there. Even though it's been there for a couple of hundred yearsThey didn't have diesels over a hundred years ago. They were using K4s Pacifics on the PRR's NY&LB trains out of Exchange Place in the 40s and 50s, too (and CNJ was using its own Wootten firebox Pacifics out of Jersey City, too). |
