My first ride on a Redbird was in 1996 when I was in third grade. I was with my father on a 6 train going up the East Side to see a plastic surgeon after I had smashed up my left arm. I was 9 or 10 at the time and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world to be able to stand at the window and look out into the tunnel. This was a few years before I started to really like the subways. I though the Redbirds were so much cooler then the R46 they had on the F line neat my house. |
