It would be a somewhat complex interlocking, at all events. There's the two tracks turning out toward Rockaway Av, and then there's Rockaway Branch which continues 'straight ahead'. One would probably want to re-configure the tracks anyway, under any scenario. So I would advocate doing the work for LIRR as preparation for future NYCT use, if you want to look at it that way. Plus, there's Airtrain. |
