Here at Metro-North, it's a similar deal, but we get 4 pants, summer or winter weight, 6 shirts of our choice (short or long sleeve), one MNR logo uniform sweater every 2 years, jacket about every 2 yrs, heavy uniform colored heavy overcoat with reflective arm sleeve strips, ties (standard or clip-on), hat (summer mesh top or winter full top). Replacements are paid for (sadly), but exchanges are no charge, and pants, shirts, jackets are fitted to the person. Also you get issued title badges (Ass't Conductor or Conductor, the latter issued to you upon full Conductor qualification), MNR lapel pins, MNR tieclips and MNR belt buckle. We also get a $100 yearly shoe allowance. This is to adhere to Metro-North's requirement for 6-inch high ankle-protective boots. No low-top shoes are allowed anymore. |
