Posted by FYBklyn1959 on Tue Nov 20 17:14:56 2007, in response to Not-so old school: Rail pics from the 90s, posted by FYBklyn1959 on Sat Sep 15 12:15:11 2007. Finally, L.A. Metro Blue Line pics!Car 125 at 7th St/Metro Center station in early 1991. Later in 1991, a northbound train as seen from the Artesia Blvd overpass, just south of Artesia station. (to get this pic, I had to climb up the embankment, but well worth it. No, I wasn't trespassing, I walked in the area next to the then-Southern Pacific track which is seen to the left of the Blue Line tracks, an area open to the public. Those ties you see by that track were for a spur that SP was about to build that branched off the SP track to a factory just north of the Artesia station parking lot.) And finally, a southbound train approaching 103rd St station in April of 1998. The lead car had been painted in the lousy "yellowjacket" color scheme. I was actually aboard an MTA bus driven by a friend of mine on line 251 (may have been route 252), which laid over by the station. |
