If it were up to me, I'd get rid of the R44s before the R32s. The R32s are a superior product, definitely built to last. The last time I rode an R44 was on my way to Port Authority to catch a bus. They actually felt like they were going to fall apart. The R46s feel a lot more solid - for as long as I've been riding the subway, they've always felt better than the 44s. Even the Slants feel like they're better built, though they look just as bad.Once the R160s come in, I think the first cars to go should be the R44s and the Slants, in that order. |
