I know the D Types didn't have LED signs, that's for sure, but I do recall seeing them have some kind of light-up side sign in addition to the rollsigns to indicate what kind of service the train would provide. I forget whether it was Via Tunnel/Via Bridge or Local/Express. I couldn't find a good enough picture of them on nycsubway.org, so I guess the only good place to check 'em out is at the Transit Museum. |
