There is one difference concerning the #6 line - during the afternoons and evening rush hours - the trains out of Parkchester run local, while the Pelham Bay trains run express. Anyone who is confused simply has to wait until the 138th Street-Third Avenue station (a local/express station) to see which track the uptown #6 arrives upon.Of course the signage on the train and the conductor's messages are usually very clear on the subject. Usually any passengers that are not clear about wether a train is local or express, will also wait at the local/express stations (Hunts Point, for example) for the train that they need. Usually there is not same "flip of a coin" about whether a #6 train is local or express. Mike |
