'Perhaps the Pennsylvania could be torn out and rebuilt but what it is right now is everything Dave Barry described it as. :( 'I am genuinely puzzled here. First, it has been mentioned in this thread that the Penn hotel has beeb undergoing renovation on a room-by-room basis and the renovated rooms are o.k. Second, when my (grown-up) kids wanted an affordable place to stay for a few days in NYC a couple of years ago, they found it on the WWW, and I asked a Subchatter of my acquaintance whom I know to be a sober and sensible citizen for his view of it. He said the renovated rooms were o.k., and my kids stayed there, and found it o.k. - and convenient, since it so happened they were due to leave NYC by Amtrak to Boston. |
